You've seen it, the waterfall head spa treatment your favourite influencers have been getting. I'd seen people getting the Japanese head spa treatment all over the world, patiently waiting, thinking "Wouldn't it be great if we had that over here?" Turns out some salons had had the same thought before me, as the treatment became available in select spas across the UK.
I spotted travel TikTok creator Kyra-Mae Turner having the treatment done in Hertfordshire. It was finally closer to home than ever. Luckily enough, the stars aligned and I was invited by Shark Beauty to try the Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex (£170, originally £200), but before I sat down for my Shark blowdry, I enjoyed 70 minutes of the Bespoke Head Spa Experience (£190) at Cloud Twelve in Notting Hill.

What Happened During the Cloud Twelve Bespoke Head Spa Experience
We started with a scalp consultation, where my therapist took a close-up image of my scalp. I have to say, honestly, my scalp was a mess. I'd been worried about dryness or dry patches, but instead I was dealing with clogged hair follicles and a whole lot of product build up. Luckily, it was nothing a good scrub couldn't fix. And so, the treatment began.
We started by cleansing my face with a cleansing balm, before adding a warm towel to my décolletage and over my eyes. We used a detoxifying Brazilian clay scalp mask applied directly to my scalp, left on for a few minutes and scrubbed away with water using a Manta brush, which felt so good that after my appointment I started searching online for one to have for myself, I found this at Boots: Manta Original Healthy Hair and Scalp (£30).

From there, my hair was shampooed twice before a hair treatment was applied to my strands and left on while I enjoyed a massage on my arms and hands, putting me straight to sleep. Here's where the fun started, as we rinsed my hair with the refreshing waterfall rinse, the head spa treatment you've undoubtedly seen all over social media and trust me, it felt as soothing as it looks.
After this, my therapist took images of my scalp again. It was completely clear, with only traces of water appearing among my hair follicles and the gunky, product build-up finally gone.

The Head Spa treatment made me feel two things, the first being relief that my scalp issues were easily and quickly fixed and second, complete and utter amazement. There's something so interesting about literally getting to the root of your hair problems, finding a solution and applying it. I left my head spa appointment with what felt like a new scalp, perfect as I embark on a new hair journey.
I also felt complete and utter relaxation. Who doesn't want to sit for 70 minutes being completely pampered as it rains cats and dogs outside? There aren't many places I'd rather be than a massage table, so I guess I'm slightly biased.
What to Consider About the Cloud Twelve Bespoke Head Spa Experience
The price is something that could stun you, but I genuinely felt it is worth it. I doubt you'll be able to find many places where you can get a scalp consultation, an extensive and luxurious hair wash and a relaxing massage all in one.
I felt so lucky to be invited by Shark Beauty to experience the spa and after my treatment, I couldn't help but think of how much my mum would love this. Alas, I'll be collecting my pennies this festive season as I believe it's the perfect Christmas gift for mums.
